Flavour Regulations

Flavour regulations are regional –  each country or region has its own ideas about how consumers should be protected and therefore have their own flavour regulations. This includes when a recipe is considered to be a flavour, how the ingredients should be labelled and in which way(s) the flavour can be described to consumers.

Many aspects of Flavour regulations can be managed in Formpak. For example you can ensure compliance to flavour ingredient limits, in relation to specific applications. You can also generate nutritional data, ingredient labelling lists by weight of flavouring ingredients and also labelling ‘for foodstuffs’.

Many clients go beyond regional regulations and also add rules to ensure compliance to specific diets and customer requirements.

Limits and other restrictions for ingredients and recipes can easily be calculated, reported and kept up to date. During product development you can access rapid feedback to be confident you develop recipes which comply to regional and customer specific requirements.

Staying up to date

During the product lifecycle, ingredients, recipes and the rules themselves can change over time. Therefore, regulatory limits can be automatically re-calculated to ensure they are always up to date. This can be configured to alert you to important changes to your product, for example to automatically propose a revision to a labelling list. This is all configurable and under your control.

Formpak can also enable you to produce Safety Data Sheets, GHS and CLP hazard labels and generate transport classifications. Your ERP or other computer systems can be integrated with Formpak so business critical regulatory data is accurately available where you need it.
