M Factors

M Factors

How do I add M Factors for a raw material?

In Formpak there are 3 Properties for M Factors:
*M Factor – The M Factor to use for both Acute and Chronic
*M Factor Acute
*M Factor Chronic
These properties are found in the ‘GHS Hazards’ property group.

Setting an M Factor = 1, means no change from the regular hazard.

Usually, the M factor applies equally to both acute and chronic environmental hazards. In this situation you apply the M factor to ‘M Factor’.
For example, set property ‘M Factor’ to 10, then this is applied to both acute and chronic environmental hazard routes. This increases the ‘hazard’ by 10, and decreases the lower limit of concentration by 10.

If you have different M Factors for acute and chronic environmental hazard routes then apply the M factors to:
*M Factor Acute
*M Factor Chronic
